Please double check whether you are licensing your music exclusively to any distributors. If you are, you may not be able to join SoundOn at this stage.
If you aren't licensing your music exclusively to any distributors, you are welcome to upload with SoundOn!
Please note: If you are looking to redistribute your music (move it from a different distributor to SoundOn) we do require that you provide the original metadata used (including the ISRCs / UPCs), and you will need to take down any music from your original distributors once they are live via SoundOn.
If you aren't licensing your music exclusively to any distributors, you are welcome to upload with SoundOn!

Getting access
To access SoundOn, follow these steps:
- Register an account with your email or phone number on our website
- Verify your identity with your artist photo + scan of your ID card + other personal info
- Image requirements: jpeg/png + ≥500x500 pixels + file size <10M
- Sign our agreement by email, through Docusign

What am I signing?
To join SoundOn, you must sign our License Agreement to upload your music to TikTok and exclusive partners, or to distribute it to global platforms. Please note that distribution to global platforms is opt-in.

Is my license with SoundOn exclusive?
There is limited exclusivity. You will need to grant us exclusivity for the platforms that you choose to distribute to whilst you are distributing through SoundOn, and we will also need exclusivity for all ByteDance-owned platforms during the term of the licence. However, if you opt not to distribute through SoundOn for a particular DSP, you are free to distribute to that DSP via a different distributor.

What is commercial music licensing?
For the first time ever, you can directly upload your music to TikTok's commercial music library, allowing brands to use your tracks in organic and promoted videos. This allows artists to gain more exposure on our platform and earn additional sync income. Commercial music licensing is opt-in for artists who join our platform.
To be eligible to join, all songwriters on the track must not have an existing deal with any publisher. Please ensure this is the case before opting your music into this service.

Why must my account be affiliated with a region?
We have a dedicated team in each region to guarantee local support. It is important that the location information is correct. When you sign up on SoundOn, you are required to choose your location based on your nationality or country of residence. This region cannot be changed later and affects contract signing and royalty payout. Please make sure you select the correct one. At this time, we are not able to approve accounts for artists who are not a resident or a national of their country of affiliation.
